SOUND ART – between founding myths and new territories. Panel discussion around issue # 31 of Glissando magazine and sound exhibition All the things that could possibly be audible- Park
The theme of the panel discussion will be sound art as an adventure for discovering new insights, interpretations, and opportunities in the world of sound. As an attempt to capture the phenomenon change the perspective of hearing. Experiment and challenge, gesture and listen to its reverb. We will consider both the multidimensional definition of this direction of contemporary art and the possible forms and directions of its development.
The structure of the discussion will be based on sections # 31 of Glissando magazine. “Founding Myths” tracks the lost themes and interpretations of past avant-garde in the context of sound studies. “Spaces” relate not only to the issues of sound work with space and architecture, but also to questions about the challenges and possible directions of evolution in the field. “Strategies” illustrate the theoretical and practical examples of how to cope with today’s possibilities and requirements of diverse sound perspectives. On the other hand, in “Praktykach” we look at these creative attitudes, which in particular make up the uniqueness of sound art in both the context of contemporary art and the western musical tradition. Lastly, “Territories” – devoid of editorial analysis and commentary, an introduction to the web-based guide to centers and formats, where you can experience sound art more and more.
